Block & Bridle Club

 

     The University of Wyoming Block & Bridle Club promotes leadership and strong public relations within the College of Agriculture and specifically within the Department of Animal Science. 

     Membership is open to any student interested in agriculture.  The club generally meets once or twice per month on Thursdays evenings at 7:00 in the Animal Science/Molecular Biology Building in room #103.  Please contact President Kaylee Reed or Vice President Kalli Koepke for more information.

Annual Block & Bridle Banquet

In the spring, the club hosts the Annual Banquet, followed by a dance, which recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding students, staff and the judging teams.  The Banquet is scheduled for April 12th.

The Block and Bridle Club sponsor the Cowboy Joe Handlers who travel with and care for The University of Wyoming mascot, Cowboy Joe.

 

Highway Clean-Up

The club collects trash twice a year from US HWY 30, North of Laramie.

Show Preparation at Little "I" Livestock Show

Little International Livestock Show

Students in ANSC 1070 train, fit and show either swine, sheep or beef cattle.  In addition, club members serve a meal, and hold a benefit ham auction in conjunction with the "Little I".

 

Club Calf Sale

Approximately 50 calves are sold from consignors in the Laramie area to calf buyers from Wyoming and other surrounding states.

Holiday Decorating

This energetic group of students also works together to decorate the Animal Science Foyer for the Holiday season.

The University of Wyoming Block & Bridle Club is an Affiliate Member of the National Block and Bridle Club and sends delegates to the National Convention each year.
