Intersection of 9th and Ivinson

The Southwest Corner of the University of Wyoming

These two images show the intersection that separates the university campus from a residential area. As the pictures show, this is the only intersection for several blocks each direction. The next intersection with a light to the West is at 4th Avenue, and the next light to the East is at 15th. The intersection of Ivinson and 4th marks the beginning of Downtown Laramie, and 15th separates the classroom area of the campus from the residence halls. The light at 9th and Ivinson breaks up the residential street of Ivinson so that students can exit and enter the parking lots on the western edge of the campus.

The West picture also shows a bicycle lane (the area to the left of the white stripe). This lane extends from campus down Ivinson to 4th. Few streets in Laramie have these lanes; therefore, the lane must serve campus, in particular, and not the wider Laramie community.
