 Student Organizations
 The American Indian Studies Alliance
An organization of students and faculty who meet weekly to discuss general disciplinary matters as well as the research projects of the group's individual members. This group addresses methodological matters, pedagogical questions, and other questions pertaining to investigation and interpretation. Native cultural exploration is at the heart of this group's interests and, therefore, Native cultural events are supported by the Alliance each year.  AISES
The American Indian Science and Engineering Society is a private non-profit organization which nurtures the building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional Native values. AISES is a national organization and its activities vary each year but have included performances, art shows, theater productions, and food sales. Membership is open to all who feel they may benefit from this organization.
 Keepers of the Fire
In 1971 the American Indian students attending the University of Wyoming founded the Keepers of the Fire. They recognized the need to preserve and promote cultural diversity on the university campus. The name, Keepers of the Fire has a very special meaning. It is meant to imply that the "fire" of Indian culture must be protected and kept by those who value its worth. We are dedicated to promoting our heritage and culture through activities such as the Annual Spring Pow-wow. We sponsor activities that provide information about our people to those who are not familiar with American Indian culture.
