Students...The Reason We're Here!

Welcome to the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture! I invite you to experience the College of Agriculture - we're shaping the future.

College of Agriculture degree programs will lead you to exciting career possibilities in fields such as natural resource management, nutrition and dietetics, rangeland ecology and soil sciences. You can start training for a career as a veterinarian or a child care provider. You may also prepare to work in one of the newest agricultural arenas - biotechnology - and learn to modify the genetic makeup of animals and plants. The College of Agriculture offers nearly 30 courses in environmental studies and natural resources, including agroecology, water and land resource economics, microbiology, insecticide toxicology and wild land watershed management.

As a small college, we offer many hands-on experiences in the lab and in the field, one-on-one experiences with most faculty and a variety of scholarship opportunities. More than one in four students who apply to the College of Agriculture scholarship program receive financial assistance from us.  Our average class size is 22 and our student to faculty ration is 10:1. As far as extracurricular activities go, our students are invited to participate in more than 20 college clubs, teams and honoraries.

If you have any questions or would like to tour the college and UW campus, please don't hesitate to call me. This is an exciting time for college-bound students, a time of many changes and big decisions. I look forward to meeting you and helping you chart your path to success.

Sincerely,

Dr. James Wangberg
