
The President’s Promise Scholarship provides a "promise" of at least $1,000 per year to eligible students.
Students must meet minimum cumulative high school grade point averages and composite ACT or SAT test scores (see grid below).
The President’s Promise is awarded in addition to a student’s eligible Hathaway merit scholarship. Any eligible Hathaway need-based scholarship dollars and/or additional UW academic scholarships awarded to the student (via donors, departments, etc.) serve to fulfill the $1,000 "promise" however. The President’s Promise is also available to resident home-schooled students with a minimum ACT composite score of 27 or SAT composite score of 1210.
This scholarship is only available to first-time, entering freshmen seeking their first bachelor's degree, but is renewable for up to 8 semesters (4 years). Students must maintain full-time enrollment (12 semester hours) during the Fall and Spring semesters each year and maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
The Trustees’ Pride Scholarship provides the equivalent cost of tuition and mandatory fees (up to 18 credit hours per regular semester), double-occupancy room, and the unlimited-access dining plan to eligible resident students.

Scholarship commitments will be fulfilled first by any funds awarded through the Hathaway Scholarship program (merit and need), then by any other UW-based academic scholarships awarded to the student. No student shall be awarded scholarships that exceed the student’s total cost of attendance.

Students are provisionally awarded scholarships by the UW Admissions Office shortly after being admitted. Final awards are made upon receipt of all final academic records. A student’s scholarship award may go up or down based on final GPA and test scores.
