Money Matters at UW

Funding your education is an important investment with lifelong dividends.  UW consistently ranks among the best values in the country based on the quality and breadth of education opportunities available, our low tuition rates for both resident and non-resident students, and our amazing undergraduate scholarship programs.

Cost of Attendance

Most colleges and universities calculate "cost of attendance" based on tuition, fees, room, board and anticipated book and personal expenses for the current school year.  Click here to view the current costs at UW.  Note that costs are approved by the Board of Trustees around March each year for the following school year.

Scholarships

New undergraduates applying to the University of Wyoming will automatically be considered for one of UW's general scholarships based on their previous academic work.  Check out www.uwyo.edu/scholarships for details.  Scholarship awards are subject to available funding.

Financial Aid

UW awards federal financial aid based on a student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results.  All students wishing to be considered for financial aid must complete the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and have the results sent to UW.  Once received, the Student Financial Aid Office will post an award offer to the student's WyoWeb account.

Residents who qualify for Hathaway Scholarships are asked to also complete the FAFSA, regardless of desire to accept grants or loans.
