Applying for Admission to UW


UNDERGRADUATE OPTIONS


Undergraduate admission decisions are made on a rolling basis as soon as a completed application is received by the UW Admissions Office. To avoid complications and delays, all application materials should be on file in the Admissions Office at least 30 days before registration for classes.

Students should follow the following application guidelines regardless of their method of study (on the Laramie campus or through UW Outreach School).

Freshman Students
Application process for first-time college students.

NOTE: Students who have been home schooled must fill out the Home School Transcript along with an application. Don't forget to include ACT or SAT scores also. UW welcomes home-schooled students and students with GED credentials. Please contact the Admissions Office for details on admission requirements.

Transfer Students
Application process for students who have taken any college coursework since graduating high school , completing a home school curriculum or completing a GED.

International Students
Students who are not permanent residents or citizens of the U.S. are considered to be international students. International students wishing to pursue graduate study at the University of Wyoming should apply with the Graduate School (see below).

Returning Students
Students who have previously attended UW and would like to return to attend undergraduate classes.

Second Bachelor's Degree Students
Students who have already received a bachelor's degree from UW, or any other institution, and who would like to earn another bachelor's degree. Note that students are not allowed to use courses taken as second bachelor's candidates towards a graduate degree without special permission from the Graduate School.

Universal College Application
UW also proudly accepts undergraduate applicants using the Universal College Application.

 

UNDERGRADUATE NON-DEGREE OPTIONS

Note: Non-degree students are NOT eligible for financial aid or scholarships.


Non-Degree Students
Undergraduate students interested in enrolling for classes on the Laramie campus without supplying transcripts or being formally admitted to UW. Restrictions apply and admission as a non-degree status is at the discretion of the Director of Admissions. Contact the Admissions Office for more information.

Non-degree or Certificate Seeking Outreach Students
Undergraduate students interested in enrolling as non-degree seeking students through the Outreach School. Contact the Outreach School at 800-448-7801 to learn if this option is appropriate for you.

High School Guest Students
Current high school seniors and juniors interested in taking college courses.

 

GRADUATE OPTIONS


Graduate Students
Students interested in graduate degree programs.
