On which dates should I visit? - Top

UW is open for visits Monday through Friday from 8-5 during the school year, at 7:30-4:30 in the summer. You should avoid visiting campus on holidays, advising week, finals week, and the week after finals. These are our anticipated busy days when faculty will be unavailable. Before planning your visit, please consult our Academic Calendar.

Can I visit on Saturday? - Top

We are unable to schedule individual visits on the weekend. However, if a Saturday program appeals to you, consider attending Discovery Day or Campus Pass.

You have several choices: You can either complete the online visit request form yourself or direct your student to this site. You may also call us directly at 307-760-4075. You will need to have the following information about your student:

  • Student's visit date and arrival time
  • Student's name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, and high school
  • Whether or not the student has applied and/or been accepted yet
  • Which major(s) the student is considering

You can also request that the student's visit schedule be copied on your e-mail for your reference.

I already scheduled a visit. What happens now? - Top

Once we have received your request to visit campus via either the online visit form or phone, we will start confirming all of the appointments you have requested. Usually, this entails an appointment with Admissions, an appointment with an advisor within your department of choice, a campus tour, and lunch in Washakie Center (school year only). Once we complete your schedule, you will receive a copy with directions to the Visitor Center by mail, e-mail, or both.

Why didn't I get the department I requested? - Top

If you requested to meet with an advisor within a specific department, we do the best we can to schedule an appointment. However, sometimes faculty is unavailable, and if this is the case, then we will have a packet of information available for you to pick up within that department.

Can I meet with a coach during my visit? - Top

We are happy to arrange appointments with club teams, rodeo, and spirit squad, just let us know when you arrange your visit.

We are unable to arrange visits with NCAA D1 sports or coaches. If you are interested in becoming a varsity athlete, fill out the Prospective Student Athlete Questionnaire. You are also encouraged to contact, or have your coach contact, the teams directly. Check out www.wyomingathletics.com for contact information. Depending on rules, regulations, and coach availability, they may be able to meet with you at the end of your campus visit.

During the school year, visitors should simply arrive at the large parking lot on 30th Street between Willett and Armory, park, and wait for the "Resident Park 'n Ride" shuttle bus arriving every ten minutes. Ask the driver to take you to Pre-College and Student Visit Programs in Knight Hall.

All year round, you may board the "Union Express" shuttle from 30th and Willett, then ride to the Wyoming Union directly across from Knight Hall. Tell the driver you are a campus visitor.

For more detailed instructions on the shuttle system, click here.

If you have been instructed that you must drive to an appointment (such as Rodeo or Animal Science), you may choose to park in the metered spaces next to Knight Hall and get a parking permit inside. You will need to move your car once you have your permit.
