Frequently Asked Questions

Select a Question:

Is Discovery Day my only opportunity to visit campus? - Top

No! You are welcome to visit campus on any weekday, and Pre-College and Student Visit Programs will arrange a campus tour, lunch, and appointments with admissions and faculty. To schedule, go to www.uwyo.edu/visit.

Admissions also hosts Campus Pass each September. See www.uwyo.edu/campuspass for details.

For information about these programs or Discovery Day, call 1 800-DIAL-WYO.

Who should attend? - Top

All prospective students and their families are welcome to attend Discovery Day. We do have some special programming arranged at certain events: our February program highlights the Transfer process, and our April program is geared towards high school Juniors.

Is a group visit day the same as an individual visit? - Top

No, they vary quite a bit. During a group visit day, such as Discovery Day, you have the opportunity to meet a great deal of people and learn a little about many things on campus. During an individual visit (see above for scheduling information), you have one-on-one appointments with fewer people for a greater length of time.

Can I register for classes at Discovery Day? - Top

No, to register for classes consider attending an orientation session. See www.uwyo.edu/orientation for the next available dates.

What should I bring? - Top

Laramie winters can be chilly, so a coat is usually advisable. We'll be doing some walking, so wear comfortable shoes! You may also want to bring some money to shop at the Bookstore or buy athletics tickets.
