The University commissioned Dr. Wendy Stock, a Professor of Economics and Agricultural Economics at Montana State University, to conduct a technical study at UW to find out whether there are salary differences among UW employees that are not attributable to employment factors regarded by many as legitimate. Among these factors are educational qualifications, disciplinary expertise, job classification, performance, rank, and professional accomplishments. The concern is that UW’s salary structure treat employees fairly, independent of gender, race, and ethnicity.
