It's time to begin thinking about
nominations for the
Tobin Memorial Award and the Rosemarie Martha Spitaleri Award. These
prestigious awards for UW’s outstanding male and female graduating seniors are
based on scholarship, leadership, contributions to the university, and
character. Each year, the awardees are recognized as the ideal role models of
student scholarship and achievement.
UW faculty, staff, administrators, and
recognized student organizations are invited to nominate students they believe
are worthy of recognition as UW’s outstanding graduating male or female. Please
note that the attached nomination form must be accompanied by your TYPED
statement describing why the student is being nominated and how he or she meets
the award criteria detailed on the form. Once a completed nomination is
received, the student will be contacted by the Office of the Vice President for
Student Affairs and asked to prepare information to supplement the original
nomination.
If you know of a strong candidate for
these awards, we encourage you to nominate him or her. Nomination materials are
being mailed to all deans, directors, department heads, RSOs, and faculty
members on Wednesday, January 4, or you can use the electronic forms attached
above. Completed, signed nomination forms
plus your typed, signed statements are due in the Office of the Vice
President for Student Affairs no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 3,
2006.
Please contact me at 766-5123 or mhriggs@uwyo.edu if you have questions
about the awards. We look forward to receiving your nominations and thank you
for taking the time to recognize some of our most exceptional undergraduate
students.
