Past recipients
The College of Arts and Sciences, through its indirect cost returns, has limited funds available to support research projects and creative activities of individual A&S academic personnel during the academic year. Normally, individual awards will not exceed $3,000. This competition is open to all academic personnel; however, emphasis is given to junior personnel with research responsibilities, and to senior personnel developing new areas of expertise.

The A&S College strives to award extraordinary merit awards in three categories—research, teaching, and advising—each year. These carry cash bonuses of $1,000. Department heads are strongly encouraged to nominate deserving candidates.

The A&S College coordinates this award opened to tenured faculty with an award of $1,500. The faculty member needs to present a viable proposal for writing and/or research about change in the Rocky Mountain region.

Process
for submitting a NEH proposal
The A&S College coordinates proposals for summer stipends funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Faculty and academic professionals in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Fine Arts Divisions are eligible to apply. The award amount for this year increased to $5,000. Announcements are made early in the fall semester, and the application deadline is late September.

The Seibold Professorship, established through the generosity of the late Clarence Seibold is open to tenured members and extended term academic professionals in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts.
London Semester

The London Semester offers faculty opportunities to teach and pursue research. Duties include teaching two courses, supervising Wyoming students in A&S 2200: British Life and Culture (a mandatory S-U course meeting the USP “G” requirement), and pursuing appropriate research. Located in central London (Bloomsbury), the program offers access to museums, libraries, theaters, historic sites, and other resources of a major urban area.
