The son of John W. Scott, a pioneer member of the UW Zoology Department, this Rhodes Scholar received a BA from Oxford University in 1932 and PhD from the University of Chicago in 1935. He has enjoyed a matchless career as a teacher, researcher, and much sought-after lecturer. Respected in the fields of psychology and biology, particularly in the area of animal behavior, Scott is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Association, the Animal Behavior Society, and the New York Zoological Society.
