 George Carr Frison

A Worland native, Frison's distinguished career as an archaeologist stems from a childhood interest. His MA and PhD are from the University of Michigan. An acclaimed expert on High Plains Archaeology and Paleo-Indian culture, he consults on archaeological projects around the world.

Frison has served as head of the UW Anthropology Department, as Wyoming State Archaeologist, and received the George Duke Humphrey Distinguished Faculty Award. He is a Regents Fellow of the Smithsonian Institution, a lifetime member of the Society for American Archaeology and a Fellow of the American Association for Advancement of Science.
