UW
in order of degrees awarded: education (20), physical sciences (14), life
sciences (12), engineering (7), social sciences/psychology (6)
Nationally,
education has the longest TTD (likely because many are practicing teachers
etc.), the shortest TTD are in physical sciences, life sciences and
engineering). UW’s higher average TTD is likely due to the larger percentage of
education doctorates relative to the national average.
Good
to see the trend in doctoral degrees awarded going up (four years ago we were
at 48) and there appears to be significant room to grow in several areas and
increase diversity.
The
other good news is that our data that will be submitted to the survey for 2007
show we have 74 doctorates awarded this year!!!!!!
Let
me know if you want to see the specific data or if you have any questions.
