What is WWAMI?

The University of Wyoming participates in a regional medical education program, WWAMI, affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM) in Seattle, Washington. WWAMI is an acronym comprised of the first letters of the five participating states: Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.

The program reserves sixteen seats each year for qualified Wyoming residents. If you are accepted, you will spend the first year on the University of Wyoming campus and the second year at the UWSOM. Your third and fourth years will be spent at selected clinical sites throughout the WWAMI region.
