Prion Biologist endowed chair. The University of Wyoming seeks a distinguished prion biologist to fill the newly created Excellence Chair in the College of Agriculture at the associate or professor level. Academic qualifications include a DVM/MD and/or PhD in a field relevant to prion biology and prion-related diseases. We seek an internationally recognized scholar with an established record in the transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. The University of Wyoming is located at the epicenter of endemic chronic wasting disease (CWD) in the Rocky Mountain West. Responsibilities include continuance and further development of an independent research program in prion diseases; serving as a focal point for and/or participation in existing multidisciplinary prion research; and contribution to Departmental teaching efforts and University service. The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in the Graduate Neuroscience and Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences programs. Salary and start-up will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin November 15, 2007 and continue until the position is filled.
