Teaching
Research/Extension

Develop modern and innovative research/extension programs on Forage Agronomy that includes: Germplasm search and evaluation for selection/cultivar development; Establishment and Best Management Practices (BMP) for profitable and sustainable forage and livestock production; Grazing management and integration with cropping systems; Incorporation of legumes (e.g. medics, alfalfa, vetch) into the grass systems; Alternative use of forages, e.g. Bioenergy Crops (switchgrass); Forage nutritive value and seed production.

  • Competitive funds from the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA) and International Crop Science Congress (ICSC) to attend the International Crop Science Congress, Korea (2007) (US $2,000)
  • Establishment of the research project of centipedegrass evaluation between Australia and Japan (2002-2004) with Dr. Masahiko Hirata with an extended research grant of Japanese ¥3,000,000 (US $35,000).
