Faculty/Graduate Student Research


The Department of Plant Sciences offers curricula and research leading to the Master of Science and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Agronomy. Faculty and graduate student research is conducted in the following discipline areas:

  • Agroecology
  • Sustainable Cropping Systems
  • Plant Genetics and Breeding
  • Horticulture
  • Plant Pathology
  • Seed Science
  • Integrated Forage-based Livestock / Cropping Systems
The research programs focus on many aspects of irrigated and dryland cropping systems and invasive weed biology, ecology, and management on range and wildlands.
