My research is concentrated in three general areas. First, I am an interdisciplinarian in the Department of Renewable Resources. That allows me to use my quantitative and systems-level skills to work with colleagues in entomology, soil science, reclamation, and water quality. Second, I have various projects of my own that involve the development and use of various sampling and population models. Third, I enjoy writing computer programs that perform some very useful tasks and some of those programs can be found on the World Wide Web (http://w3.uwyo.edu/~dlegg/dlegg.htm). My teaching involves a variety of subjects and courses. Currently, I teach two courses in entomology: "Insect Biology," and "Insect Anatomy and Physiology" (team-taught). I also teach two courses in agroecology: "Ecology of Plant Protection" (team-taught), and "Agroecosystems Management," as well as one graduate level course in statistics: "Statistical Methods for the Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences." Finally, I assist faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Renewable Resources with statistical analysis and experimental design.
