Admissions Checklist for Domestic Applicants

Step 1.
Pay Application Fee Online - Please make sure you've submitted the application online before you pay the application fee.
Step 2. Official Transcripts from all
Post-Secondary Institutions sent to:

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited school is
required. A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0
on previous coursework is required for full admission (3.25 for
interdisciplinary program applicants). We do not
require official transcripts from UW.
NOTE: Please be sure to notify the Graduate School (uwgrad@uwyo.edu) if you expect any of your transcripts to reflect a former name.
Step 3. Official GRE
Scores sent to the Graduate School (school code is 4855; departmental
codes are online at
http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/GRE/pdf/gre_0708_tclist.pdf)
A composite minimum score of 900 (master's), 1,000
(doctoral) or 1,100 (interdisciplinary) on the Verbal and Quantitative
sections of the GRE is required for full admission. The GRE is usually
not required for applicants with an earned master's degree from an
accredited institution. In addition, some academic units may not
require the GRE but may have a requirement in lieu of the GRE. Please
check with your department of interest for details.
The
GMAT
(minimum total score of 500) is required for some business programs. Scores
should be sent to
the department of interest.

Step 6. Check with the department to be sure you have submitted any additional materials they might need.
--Persons seeking admission, employment or access to programs of the

All credentials submitted become property of the
University of Wyoming. Please be aware of all departmental application
deadlines. The only deadline the Graduate School carries enforces no
semester admissions after the mid-term of that semester.

of Psychology has a special application procedure. Please check
with the department staff before
applying to the Graduate School.)

After you apply:
-Your application will be processed by the Graduate
School staff the following morning. You will receive e-mail
notification of this.
-A copy of your application will be forwarded to the
department to which you are applying.
-Once all the required documents are received, the
department will make a recommendation for admission or denial to the
Graduate School.
-You will receive an official letter from the Graduate
School regarding the decision of your admission.
Under special circumstances, students who do not meet the minimum requirements for full admission may be considered for provisional admission. Prospective graduate students should be aware that departments may not be able to accommodate all applicants who meet the minimum admission requirements. Admission to a degree program does not automatically qualify a student as a candidate for an advanced degree.

GMAT
(Graduate Management Admissions Test). To register or get
