Step 1.

Step 2.  Official Transcripts from all Post-Secondary Institutions sent to:
UW Graduate School
Dept. 3108, 1000 E. Univ. Ave.
Laramie, WY  82071
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited school is required.  A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on previous coursework is required for full admission (3.25 for interdisciplinary program applicants).  We do not require official transcripts from UW.

NOTE: Please be sure to notify the Graduate School (uwgrad@uwyo.edu) if you expect any of your transcripts to reflect a former name.

Step 3.  Official GRE Scores sent to the Graduate School (school code is 4855; departmental codes are online at http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/GRE/pdf/gre_0708_tclist.pdf)
A composite minimum score of 900 (master's), 1,000 (doctoral) or 1,100 (interdisciplinary) on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the GRE is required for full admission.  The GRE is usually not required for applicants with an earned master's degree from an accredited institution.  In addition, some academic units may not require the GRE but may have a requirement in lieu of the GRE.  Please check with your department of interest for details.
The GMAT (minimum total score of 500) is required for some business programs.  Scores should be sent to the department of interest.

Step 4.  Three Letters of Recommendation sent to your Department of Interest

Step 5.  Graduate Assistantship Application<PDF> (optional) sent to your Department of Interest

--Persons seeking admission, employment or access to programs of the University of Wyoming shall be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, sexual orientation or political belief.--
All credentials submitted become property of the University of Wyoming.  Please be aware of all departmental application deadlines.  The only deadline the Graduate School carries enforces no semester admissions after the mid-term of that semester.
(NOTE: The Department of Psychology has a special application procedure.  Please check with the department staff before applying to the Graduate School.)

After you apply:
-Your application will be processed by the Graduate School staff the following morning.  You will receive e-mail notification of this.
-A copy of your application will be forwarded to the department to which you are applying.
-Once all the required documents are received, the department will make a recommendation for admission or denial to the Graduate School.
-You will receive an official letter from the Graduate School regarding the decision of your admission.

Under special circumstances, students who do not meet the minimum requirements for full admission may be considered for provisional admission.  Prospective graduate students should be aware that departments may not be able to accommodate all applicants who meet the minimum admission requirements.  Admission to a degree program does not automatically qualify a student as a candidate for an advanced degree.
