success in your chosen career. Quality Indicators UW is a national leader in the fields of environment and natural resource research, specializing in energy, agriculture, and water-related fields. Units supporting this research include the Institute for Energy Research, Wyoming Cooperative Research Unit, Wyoming Geographic Information Sciences Center; Institute for Environment and Natural Resources, Institute for Scientific Computation; and Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, and Atmospheric Sciences. The National Institutes of Health granted UW $6.9 million to establish a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence. A four-year, $1.3 million grant from NASA is funding Planetary and Space Science Center research. $13,000,000.00 Inbre grant (Idea networks of biomedical excellence) was received to study health outcomes in rural populations. Interdisciplinary research program centered in the College of Health Sciences. UW has received Cardiovascular Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grants in excess of $5 million dollars. The research focuses on physiological mechanisms involved in regulation of nerve function and the cardiovascular system. |
