Natrona, Goshen county teams win 4-H horse judging competition

The Natrona County team won the senior competition and a team from Goshen County won the junior competition at the 2007 State Horse Judging Contest in Cheyenne June 27.

4-H is the youth arm of the University of Wyoming’s Cooperative Extension Service, and its state offices are in the College of Agriculture.

The top three senior teams are awarded trips. The Natrona County team will attend the National Western Roundup in Denver, Jan. 10-13. The Goshen County team will attend the Morgan Horse Association judging contest in Oklahoma City Oct. 12. The Platte County team will attend the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, in October. 1. Goshen County: Codie Coon, Bridgit Hort, Andrea Gurney, Michaella Lay. 2. Campbell County: Scott Fahlgren, Taylor McInereny, Kody Knighten, Rosemary Hopson. 3. Laramie County: Shelby Kindsvater, Jacob Kennedy, Mark Hollmann, Heather Vredenburg.

 Intermediate Results (County)

1. Cady Halverson, Converse; 2. Michaella Lay, Goshen; 3. Kody Knighten, Campbell; 4. Zoey Taucher, Natrona; 5. Andrea Gurney, Goshen.

Senior Team (County)

1. Natrona: Riley Arner, Sage Petersen, Ruth Uptain, Keylee Sayler. 2. Goshen: Robbie Gurney, Taylor Kath, Emily Madden, Kylie Bremer. 3. Platte: Christina Aguirre, Cora Rupert, Preston Hiatt, Destiny Pierce.
