A dress handcrafted and colored out of more than 200 paper coffee filters by a University of Wyoming employee was accepted into an international juried show.

Ginny Kilander is a reference archivist at UW’s American Heritage Center. She was a student in Professor Donna Brown’s fiber arts class in the College of Agriculture’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences during the spring semester, and she made the dress as a concurrent project to her work in the class.

Kilander’s dress was among 38 entries accepted into the Robert C. Williams Paper Museum’s international show, “The Paper Runway.” There were more than 100 entries.

The traveling exhibit will be on display through early 2010 in at least four locations in Chile and the United States, including the Williams Paper Museum at Georgia Tech University and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
