Nutrition assistant joins Wind River Indian Reservation extension office
An assistant Cent$ible Nutrition Program (CNP) educator has joined the Wind River Indian Reservation University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office.
Nan Craft began in October, according to Mindy Meuli, program manager of the UW CES’s CNP in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Agriculture.
“It is a rare gift to be offered a position promoting healthy lifestyles and economical nutritional choices in one’s own community,” said Craft, who was born in Indianapolis, lived in Kalispell, Mont., for more than 30 years and moved to Wyoming 12 years ago.
“Having extensive background in both community education and life experiences have both led me to and prepared me for this awesome opportunity,” she said.
The UW CES CNP program helps Food Stamp Program-eligible residents learn how to eat better for less and stretch their Food Stamp buying power. CNP provides educational opportunities for Wyoming families and individuals with limited resources that lead to having access to an affordable, available, adequate, nutritious and safe food supply.
