UW trustee, ag college dean host open house at state fair

An open house hosted by the University of Wyoming’s College of Agriculture is 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo.

The open house will be in the Agriculture and Natural Resource Center on the fairgrounds. Representing the university will be Warren Lauer and Frank Galey. Lauer, a UW trustee from Laramie, received a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 1976 and his juris doctorate in 1980, both from UW. Galey is the dean of the College of Agriculture.

Lauer will present awards at the all other breeds open cattle show, which starts at 1 p.m. in the Beef Arena, and the champion of champions junior market lamb show at  4 p.m. in the Sheep Arena.

Galey will present the Wyoming Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year and FFA Advisor of the Year awards at the Wyoming Livestock Roundup/Farm Credit Services picnic at Riverside Park, which starts at 6 p.m.
