Sarah Jackson4-H/military educator joins Laramie County UW extension team

A 4-H/military extension educator will help implement 4-H youth programs on F.E. Warren Air Force Base and in U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard installations across Wyoming.

Sarah Jackson will join the Laramie County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office Jan. 5.

Jackson will be based in Laramie County. A Missouri native, Jackson graduated this December from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism.

This is a position partially funded through a 4-H Military Grant, said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator.

Half of the position will be spent with military programs and the other half assisting full-time youth educator Jenna Evans with traditional 4-H programs in Laramie County.

Jackson has worked for three years at the University of Missouri Extension’s 4-H Center for Youth Development. According to James, “Sarah brings an exceptionally strong 4-H background and understands the goals of the 4-H program in developing youths through leadership, citizenship and life skills education.”
