Powell lunch seminars get your garden ready for spring

The University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) is offering “Get Your Garden Ready,” a series of lunchtime seminars focused on home vegetable gardens at the Park County Public Library in Powell.

Seminars are Wednesdays from noon to 12:50 p.m. Coffee and tea will be available.

The sessions are:

Feb. 18 – Lasagna Gardening and Catalog Literacy: Sandra Frost, UW CES educator specializing in crops.

March 4 – Composting and Vermiculture (use of worms to form compost from kitchen waste): Ann Hinkley, Park County Master Gardener

March 18 – Heirloom Varieties (historical plant varieties from seeds saved by amateur gardeners): Jackie Anthony, former Park County Master Gardener

April 1 – Seeding: Nancy Ryan, Park County Master Gardener

April 22 – Integrated Pest Management: Joyce Johnston, Park County horticulture technician, UW CES
