Shawna Potter4-H youth educator joins Carbon County extension office May 19

Shawna Potter will join the Carbon County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office in Rawlins May 19 as the 4-H youth extension educator.

Potter, who will graduate this month from Colorado State University with a master’s degree in agriculture extension education, has an extensive background in 4-H and working with others to develop and coordinate programs, said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator.

“Shawna’s 4-H background is broad and diverse; she has experience in animal science projects and clothing, dog, cake decorating and Junior Leadership,” said James. “This experience will be an asset to the 4-H youth program in Carbon County.”

Potter is a 2006 CSU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education. A 10-year member of 4-H in Pueblo County, Colo.,  she brings experience working as a 4-H intern in Pueblo County the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2006, and in 2007 she worked as the youth livestock intern in Weld County, Colo.
