Residents can sample Park County ag produce at Aug. 28 event

Locally grown sweet corn, cantaloupe, meats and bean dishes by bean producers will be available at A Taste of Park County, where residents can discover food products close to home.

The event is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at the multipurpose room of the Park County Fairgrounds in Powell. It is sponsored by Archer Daniels Midland Co., Bresnan Communications and the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES).

The food will be grown and produced within 50 miles of Cody and Powell. The cost is $1 per taste at vendors’ booths.

“I hope Park County residents will find local sources of fresh foods they can enjoy,” said Sandra Frost, UW CES educator based in Park County. “Park County is a diverse agricultural community blessed with good growing conditions. We can feed ourselves without driving very far.”
