4-H and ROTC collecting goods for military families in Albany County
The Albany County 4-H Junior Leaders, working in collaboration with the University of Wyoming Army ROTC, are collecting goods to help Albany County military families in need.
“Some of these families who have loved ones serving overseas in the military are facing financial problems,” said one of the organizers, Carl Majewski, a supply technician for UW Army ROTC and a volunteer leader for Albany County 4-H Junior Leaders.
Majewski said they hope to obtain enough donations of cash and goods – including nonperishable food items, toiletries, and toys – to help at least two families during the holiday season. If enough donations come in, additional families will be assisted as will the Soup Kitchen at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral, he said.
Items can be delivered to Majewski in the UW Army ROTC office or the UW Albany County Cooperative Extension Service (CES) office at the fairgrounds. For more information on specific items to donate, call Majewski at (307) 766-5388 or 745-5660.
4-H is the youth arm of the University of Wyoming CES, and its state offices are in the College of Agriculture.
