4-HWyoming State 4-H Foundation provides $136,831 to counties

More than $136,831 was provided as financial support for 4-H county programs and youths in Wyoming counties by the Wyoming State Foundation Oct. 1, 2007 – Sept. 30-2008.

Additionally, the foundation provided $15,000 for state awards not included in the total, according to Steve Mack, director of the foundation. The total to the state 4-H program balloons to $250,537 when program support, contest and event support and operating expenses are added.

“The Wyoming State 4-H Foundation is proud to support the local county 4-H programs,” said Mack. “It is at this grass root level the vast majority of 4-H education takes place.”

Amounts to counties include:

Albany, $8,513; Big Horn, $1,104; Campbell, $11,414; Carbon, $4,912.50; Converse, $9,182; Crook, $5,112; Fremont, $9,278; Goshen, $10,397; Hot Springs, $980; Johnson, $5,780; Laramie, $10,755; Lincoln, $1,260; Natrona, $7,125.50; Niobrara, $8,704; Park, $4,754; Platte, $7,020; Sheridan, $9,468; Sublette, $5,268; Sweetwater, $1,233; Teton, $4,779; Uinta, $5,100; Washakie, $3,422; Weston, $1,270.

The Wyoming State 4-H Foundation receives its funds primarily from donations. These donations are from both individuals and business throughout Wyoming that share the goal of youth development and youth education.
