WyoWare Benefits for UW Graduates

Microsoft Campus Agreement software (WyoWare) is available from UW servers or e-Academy for temporary use while attending the University of Wyoming. Graduating students are eligible to transfer the temporary use license to a perpetual license that will allow them to continue to use the software. This means that graduating students will rightfully own the license of the version of software that they downloaded at no additional cost.

If a student downloads the software from UW servers and is listed by the Office of the Registrar as eligible for graduation, they can receive the Graduate Transfer of License Certificate by visiting https://software.uwyo.edu/gradlicense.
Information Technology will email eligible graduating students when the certificate is available. Only eligible graduating students will have access to the secure Web site. Once notification is sent, students will have access to the certificate site for up to one month after graduation. If a student has downloaded software and is eligible for graduation but does not receive notification via email from Information Technology, they may check access to the site a couple of weeks prior to graduation. You are required to print the confirmation of license transfer to keep for your records.

Students who acquire media (CDs) from e-Academy will be notified by e-Academy of their eligibility to receive the license certificate. Instructions will be provided by e-Academy.

When students accept the terms and conditions of the student software agreement, they agree to the following:

• I understand that if I graduate from the University of Wyoming during the Campus Subscription Enrollment licensed period, the Software license will convert to a perpetual license (meaning I have full ownership of the Software).
• I understand that it is my responsibility to complete the online Web form to obtain the Student License Confirmation for Microsoft software that is downloaded from the University of Wyoming, which is proof of Software ownership, prior to graduation from the institution. I understand that software media (CD) distribution partners will be notified of my graduating status, after which I can log in to the partner's online Web site to collect my Confirmation.

Information Technology understands that this is a busy time in a graduate’s life, so we will extend your ability to download the license transfer to one month after graduation. After that time, you will no longer be able to access the license transfer Web page.

If you do not graduate from UW, you must remove the software you attained through the UW Campus Agreement once you are no longer attending UW.
