Well, for those of you who
came out for the 2011 Silent Trails race, you
know the story. EPIC! 105 starters, 95
finishers. Snow and cold, great companionship.
Not soon to be forgotten.
Snow began to fall at
8:30am. By race time we were seeing around an
inch per hour. Or more! The overall winner,
Jason Delaney, took off in shorts and a
singlet, and arrived at the finish with around
1/4 inch of ice ... head to toe. Despite all
that the weather could dish out, there were
lots of smiles, and a few tears shed for the
missing EIGHT.
Thanks to all of the
runners, volunteers, sponsors, parents and
supporters that make this race special.
RESULTS ARE
POSTED!
See you all next year!
On September 16, 2001, eight cross country runners from the University of Wyoming were killed by a drunk
driver. On the second Saturday of every October, we 'RUN FOR THE "8"', in their memory and in
celebration of their lives and commitment to running.
