INSURANCE

Federal Express, UPS and DHL packages are automatically insured for $100.00

When insuring packages, only insure for the replacement value.  You CANNOT insure airline tickets or checks for their amount.  (They are only valued for the paper they are printed on).  This is the same for "grant" applications!

The reason you are insuring your package is in case of a damage claim; so make sure you have your paperwork to back up your value in case of a claim.

 Certain items cannot be insured through the carriers such as fine art.  If you have something "out of the ordinary" or "high value" and would like to insure it, please call S&R to make sure it can be done.  You may need to insurance through Risk Management on Campus.

Again, you are insuring your package in case of a damage claim; make sure that you have appropriately packaged your items.  This is the biggest reason for a claim being "DECLINED".
