The annual Nih SBIR/sttr conference will be held on February 26/27 at the
tuscany suites in las vegas, nevada.
Spread over two-consecutive
days, attendees will learn the
“ins and outs” of the NIH SBIR/STTR program, the
funding opportunities available to small business researchers, and how the NIH
SBIR/STTR program can be a valuable resource to help start and/or grow your
company. As in the past,
topics at the
conference
are focused toward those who
have never participated in the SBIR/STTR programs as well as those who are more
seasoned, since the material is timely and reflective of new opportunities,
updates, and changes (e.g., electronic submission, gap funding programs,
commercialization assistance programs, and more!) The agenda, registration
and other conference information are available at the conference website: (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/SBIRConf2007/index.htm) Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
GRO-Biz will be hosting the Government Procurement Opportunities for Small
Business Conference February 21 & 22nd, 2006. The event will be held at the Best
Western Ramkota Hotel in Casper. For complete information, go to http://www.gro-biz.com/seminars.htm
or contact: The Wyoming Technology
Organization (WTO) and the Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC) invite you
to participate in Part 2
of their Internet Marketing Series with Nathan Potter, Marketing Manager for
IDES in Laramie. The seminar is titled “INTERNET MARKETING STRATEGIES TO

RAND
Releases Study on DoD SBIR
(1/03/07) - The
RAND Corporation's
National Defense Research Institute (NDRI) has released its comprehensive
study Evaluation and Recommendations for Improvement of the Department of
Defense Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. The study, funded
by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), looked at the DoD's SBIR
success related to the agency's goals and metrics; how their SBIR program
relates to the DoD's broader national security mission and how their SBIR
program can become more responsive to the broader national security mission.
Although the
report finds many beneficial properties to the SBIR program, it also raises the
question of whether the DoD SBIR program might be perceived more as a tax and
burden to the DoD rather than a research and development resource to be
leveraged.
RAND makes the 184
page study as well as a 14 page summary available on their web site at
