Jan. 28, 2003 -- A welcome and orientation for all new, returning and transfer ethnic minority students at the University of Wyoming will be Friday, Jan. 31, from 4-6 p.m.
Participants will meet in the Multicultural Resource Room (MRC) in Room 103 of the Wyoming Union, followed by a meeting in the Wyoming Union Family Room.
Sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), the Multicultural Connections is an opportunity to meet other students, says Dolores Cardona, OMA director. It offers information about student services provided by OMA, MRC, the Rainbow Resource Center and other campus and community resources that can enhance student success at UW.
New students, especially freshmen or transfer students, or students who are facing academic problems at UW, are especially encouraged to attend, Cardona says. Refreshments will be provided and children are welcome.
"This is a social event so that new minority students can build relationships with returning students, staff in the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and other faculty and staff on campus," Cardona says.
