Early Childhood

The College of Education offers two certification programs in early childhood education: one at the undergraduate level for teachers serving children from birth to age eight and one at the graduate level serving children with special needs from birth through age five. In addition, undergraduate students in elementary education may choose early childhood education as an 18 hour area of concentration. All of the programs are interdisciplinary in nature, with course offerings available from four different colleges on campus: education, agriculture, arts and sciences and health sciences. Specific advising in each of the early childhood options support students in their program development. The following courses are a partial list of the course offerings available. Masters and Doctoral degrees in education are available. Additional information may be found in the Graduate Bulletin or on the department’s webpage.
