Transcription--
- The NCNS does not provide its own transcription services. It does keep a list of transcriptionists and
will download audio datasets and mail them for transcription. This process generally involves 4 days of
processing-and-travel time and approximately 3 hours of transcription time per hour of data. Sometimes,
transcriptionists are unable to start work immediately on a project because of previous commitments.
Therefore, those needing this service are advised to check in with the Center (ncns@uwyo.edu or 766-6821)
sufficiently far ahead of time to allow their data to be transcribed in a timely manner. Mailers and CDs
should be supplied by the researcher and she/he should indicate at the time of the work request the person
or grant to whom the transcriptions should be charged.
