Kathleen McKeage joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming in 1989.
Raised in Colorado, McKeage holds degrees from UW and the University of Northern Colorado.
She taught public school music in Wyoming and currently teaches
Elementary Music for Majors, Introduction to Music Education and Aural
Skills at UW. She regularly provides clinics to public school audiences on Acoustic
and Electric Bass Basics, Bass
Technique for Public School Players, and Jazz
Improvisation in the Orff Classroom.
McKeage currently serves as Higher Education Vice President of the
Wyoming
Music Educators Association.
Her playing experience as a bassist includes everything from pop to orchestral music. She performs regularly on the UW campus with chamber groups and as a member of the UW Faculty Jazz Ensemble. During the summer she performs throughout the United States as a part of the western swing band Wyoming Home Grown who, in 2001, appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC as part of the Millennium Celebration concert series.
