Celebrates Army’s 234^th Birthday

The Army will be celebrating its 234^th birthday on June 14, 2009.  Each year the Army develops a birthday book to mark the celebration.  The first week of June the OMK state office will be receiving Army Birthday Book Reading Kits.  The kit contains an adult reader book and smaller books for younger children.  Also included are the finger puppets of the book’s main characters.

Army Birthday Book Posters and an Army Birthday Book Event invitation are available.  These resources are posted as “Army Birthday Resources”.  The adult and children books will be available to download from the website as well.  This is an opportunity to support the Army Families and involve others in the community in the celebration.  Through the state office, we will be able to put you in contact your local military Family Assistance staff.  Contact the state OMK office for more information and support materials.
