Desktop and Laptop Standards at UW
Why do we need standards?
There are many options in the desktop and laptop
environments that include decisions about what to buy, whether it will work
at the University of Wyoming, and who to call if there are problems with
your hardware and software. These are all
important considerations. The Division of Information Technology has
adopted, over the years, standards which it recommends to the campus
community.
Lists of currently supported and recommended hardware and software are found
through the links at left.
The software you purchase should be compatible with operating systems currently
supported at the University of Wyoming. The UW IT Client Support group is available to
work with you if you have questions. Please contact the UW IT Help Desk
at 766-HELP (4357), option 1, or your departmental user consultant for assistance with any of these
supported standards.
