Email Storage Quotas Increased, Outlook Web Access Upgraded
(Email announcement originally sent to All Exchange Users on 7/27/05)
On July 30 and July 31, UW’s Exchange email system will be upgraded.
With the exception of receiving an increased storage quota, current
Microsoft Outlook users will see little difference after the upgrade.
However, the Outlook Web Access (OWA) interface will have a new look,
more online features and a new URL address, uwmail.uwyo.edu. To access
your email via the Web, bookmark or connect your browser to
http://uwmail.uwyo.edu effective
July 30th.
During the weekend upgrade, each user’s Exchange email will be locked
and inaccessible for a brief period of time. After the upgrade, the new
default size for each user’s mailbox will be increased from the current
30 MB allocation to 100 MB.
Unified Messaging (www.uwyo.edu/infotech/services/departments/voip/unityvm.htm) subscribers will be allotted an
additional 25 MB. Users currently paying for additional storage space
beyond 30 MB will continue to receive their additional space in addition
to 100 MB. Please contact the IT Telecom Helpdesk at 766-4357, option 2,
if you wish to decrease or increase your paid storage quota.
Documentation covering the changes to Outlook Web Access will be posted
on the Ask IT help site
(www.uwyo.edu/askit).
For additional information please contact your User Consultant, the IT
Help Desk at 766-4357, option 1, or send an email to
userhelp@uwyo.edu.
