Advisory Committees
The advent of distributed computing at the University of Wyoming brought
the need to redefine the charges of the Division of Information Technology’s
computing advisory committees. Because campus computing is becoming more
distributed, IT no longer "controls" the majority of computing resources
and processes. Therefore, the roles of the Academic Information
Technology Committee (AITC)
and the Institutional Administrative Technology Advisory Committee (IATAC) have
been redefined to be more inclusive of all the UW computing systems. These
committees advise the University on matters of academic and administrative
computing.
The Central Student Technology Committee (CSTC)
addresses technology issues as they relate to UW students.
The University Technology Planning Council (UTPC) is
charged with shaping and executing the University’s technology strategy.
This group addresses university-wide technology issues and planning and
reviews and prioritizes major information technology initiatives across
the university
