Web Pages
Administrative and Academic Web Sites
New Web sites are created on several servers at the University of
Wyoming. Content determines where the site resides. The two
designations are administrative/departmental (www.uwyo.edu/infotech/support/webinfo/admnwebsites.html)
and academic (www.uwyo.edu/infotech/support/webinfo/acadwebsites.html).
To request a web site on one of the University web servers, please use the pages available on the Central Web Site Management Requests (www.uwyo.edu/CENTRALSITEREQUESTS/) site. Contact your user
consultant (www.uwyo.edu/infotech/support/uclist.asp) if you need additional assistance.
If you need help creating an administrative or academic Web site, see the campus resources listed on the UW Web Designers site (www.uwyo.edu/webnews/designers/). For information about instruction opportunities on Web-related software see the
IT Computer Workshops (www.uwyo.edu/infotech/Training/) pages. Detailed information about UW Web sites is also available through the Ask IT online help site (www.uwyo.edu/askit/default.asp?parentid=1#book14).
Personal Web Pages for Students, Faculty and Staff
UW students and employees can create their own personal Web sites on the Frontier server. To create a personal Web site, see How to work with Web pages on Frontier (www.uwyo.edu/ASKIT/displaydoc.asp?askitdocid=289&parentid=1). Pages hosted
on this UNIX server are prefaced with w3.uwyo.edu.
Students also have access to the student Web server for creating personal Web sites through the UWStudent Web
sites (http://students.uwyo.edu/).
