1Use of Sick Leave

Sick leave may be used when there is a death in the family of the employee or the employee’s spouse/partner.  Family member includes and is limited to parent, spouse/partner, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, son or daughter-in-law, sibling-in-law, or another member of the employee’s immediate household.  Sick leave is also available for the medical care of a family member of the employee.  Family member includes and is limited to parent, spouse/partner, child, or another member of the employee’s immediate household.

 

2Use of Bereavement Leave

Benefited employees shall be granted up to three days of bereavement leave upon the death of a family member of the employee or the employee’s spouse/partner.  Family member includes and is limited to parent, spouse/partner, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, son or daughter-in-law, sibling-in-law, or another member of the employee’s immediate household.  This leave shall be used before the use of any other leave authorized for this purpose.

 

3FMLA Leave

Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) benefits are potentially available to the employee for medical reasons, for the birth or adoption of a child, and for the care of a child, spouse, or parent who has a serious medical condition.
