Understanding insurance is important to all of us. The Health Insurance Booklet will tell you most of what you need to know about health and dental insurance offered by UW. Retiree Medical & Dental Rates are a little different than those for active employees. Life Insurance Rates depend on your age.
If you are a WRS member, the Wyoming Retirement Handbook should be helpful. You can also visit the WRS web site to get forms, estimate your retirement benefit, and much more. The TIAA-CREF web site provides members with the ability to manage their retirement money. Details of the UW Defined Contribution Retirement Plan can be found on the UW HR Benefits web site. Give TIAA-CREF a call at (800) 842-2776. If you are thinking about retiring, be sure to find out if you qualify for Emeritus or Board of Trustee Retirement benefits.
If you are retired with either WRS or TIAA-CREF you can return to a non-benefited position without restrictions. However, if you are considering returning to a benefited position, you need to be very careful to comply with the Rehire of a Retiree Policy and complete the Rehired Retiree Form.
The Social Security Administration is the place to find out about eligibility for benefits and signing-up for Medicare.
The UW HR Benefits staff is here to help in any way we can. We're
happy to field your questions about insurance, your benefit check,
retirement options, and just about any other related questions.
