Research Interests:

Professor and Rochelle Chair, Reproductive Physiology.  Recent studies focused on conceptus: uterine interactions throughout gestation in the cow, ewe and sow, with emphasis on factors controlling uterine and placental blood vessel development, function and blood flow.  Current interests include the physiologic and genetic controls of litter size in the pig, as well as the fetal origin of adult disease. Current studies emphasize the impacts of early gestational undernutrition in the ewe and cow on fetal growth and development as well as offspring health and growth efficiency.  Serves as Director of the Center for the Study of Fetal Programming.
