Child Care Health Consultation

Instructors: Mary Beth Stepans, PhD, and Joan Bangen, MS
This on-line course, enables students to obtain a Child Care Health Consultant Certificate. Others may take the course to learn more about child care health consultation. Topics will include consultation skills, children’s mental health, child care health and safety, child care abuse and neglect, nutrition, injury prevention, oral health, caring for ill children in child care settings, working with children with special needs, issues of diversity, model child care health policies, and injury prevention. This course would benefit nursing students, public health and school nurses, mental health professionals, and early childhood professionals.
Date/Time: Summer Semester, 2005
Prerequisites: Senior or graduate status and current employment as a public health nurse or school nurse, or consent of instructor.
