Phi Upsilon Omicron Initiation

            The Delta Chapter of Phi Upsilon Omicron, the Family and Consumer Sciences honorary, held their Spring Initiation on April 7, 2005.   Membership is based primarily on academic excellence and invites the top 35% of FCSC majors, junior standing and above, to join the organization each semester.  Phi Upsilon Omicron recognizes and encourages academic excellence, develops qualities of professional and personal leadership, provides opportunities for service to the profession, and encourages professional and personal commitment to the advancement family and consumer sciences and other related areas. Phi Upsilon Omicron is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.

This semester Phi Upsilon Omicron welcomed Maria Jackson, Patricia Chien, Tiffany Hearne, Janelle Wolfram, Krisitin Frappart, Elyssa Schiltz, and Sara Diest. Initiation was completed with the help of the 2004-2005 officers: Katelyn Holloway, President; Amber Rettmann, Vice President; Ashley Pedersen, Secretary; Brenda Clement, Treasurer; and Brenda Herbst, Historian. Faculty advisors Bruce Cameron and Mike Liebman as well as current members Nichole Bieber, Aurora Hill-Kleespie, Nancy Rumney, Samantha Ellsbury, Anne Funk, and Eleanor Frye were also in attendance.

            After initiation, the 2005-2006 officers were elected: President – Katelyn Holloway; Vice President – Tiffany Hearne; Secretary – Kristin Frappart; Treasurer – Eleanor Frye; Historian – Patricia Chien; Initiation Chair – Nancy Rumney; Ag Council Representative – Anne Funk; and Fundraising Chair – Elysa Schiltz.
